EXPERIENCE NATURE
Anyone visiting Seenland Oder-Spree comes in search of nature – and finds it: wide horizons, idyllic banks of the Spree, forests and meadows. Best of all, the routes for exploring on foot and on the water begin right outside Landhaus Alwine.
- Hikerscan set off into the neighbouring “Schwarzberge und Spreeniederung” nature reserve to the south, with its species-rich mixed deciduous forests.
- A short walk west takes you straight into the enchanting Sauener Wald, a model forest that has been sustainably managed for more than 100 years.
- the east, forest tracks lead past romantic old arms of the Spree to Wergensee and the historic Neuhaus lock with its wooden drawbridge.
- Cyclists can join the Tour Brandenburg directly outside the house – at 1,111 km, Germany’s longest long-distance cycle route. Or take the Spreeradweg. Or the Märkische Schlössertour.
- For day trips by bike, you are spoilt for choice: for example, explore the beautiful Schlaubetal, cycle around the Scharmützelsee or head south to the Schwielochsee, Brandenburg’s largest natural lake.
- Paddlers can launch their canoe directly into the Spree from our protected Alwine riverbank. The day trip to the Drahendorfer Spree is wild, romantic and peaceful. From there, you can continue along the legendary “Märkische Umfahrt” all the way to Berlin (3 days). Or paddle the entire circuit (approx. 10 days). For shorter outings, the idyllic upstream route to Radinkendorf is another good option.
If you like, you can go horse riding, watch birds, head out on a photo safari, pick mushrooms, go swimming (in the pool, the Spree or a lake) – or simply unwind in our cottage garden or on the Alwine-Spreewiese. It goes without saying that our house is also a popular base for keen hunters and anglers. Whatever outdoor activity you have in mind, we will of course be happy to help you choose and prepare for it.
